Something extraordinary is coming to Street!

A fun family day celebrating Somerset, the Somerset Dragon and the start of summer at the museum.

The Somerset Dragon is on the road – created by students at Taunton college as part of a landmark collaboration with University Centre Somerset College and Passion for Somerset CIC, this iconic dragon has been travelling through towns and villages across the county and now its our turn.

Join us for an afternoon of celebration and family fun as the dragon plans to make its grand visit to Street. We will start the afternoon on the grounds of Shoemakers Museum with a bouncy castle and inflatable assault course. Get your dancing shoes on at the disco dome, and be enchanted by storytelling. Wild Moon Dancers will be bringing the county’s heritage to life with rip-roaring morris dancing and an opportunity to have a go yourself. As well as dragon themes trails around the museum, we’re welcoming an actual animatronic dragon around Shoemakers.

Outdoor activities are free to attend, and the trails and activities inside the museum free for museum annual pass holders.

We’ll be working on dragon time today with the rough shape of the day as follows:

1pm – 4pm Bouncy castle, disco dome and inflatable assault course

1.45pm Wild Moon Morris
