Join us for a Summer of fun with trails, theatre, crafting, murals, journalling and more!
Families are welcome as Shoemakers’ Museum transforms into a hub of community.
Visitors are invited to join a season‑long celebration inspired by Village of Street. The remarkable community everyday moments, local characters, and the rhythms of village life represented in the Museum. Culminating in a Big Day Out celebration on our one year anniversary.

Thursday mornings are made for mural painting! Each week come and add your mark to a community mural celebrating your summer holiday experience.
Fossil Thursdays 6th and 20th Aug.
Summer Stories – Journal making workshop – 26 Aug – Capture the magic of your summer before it slips away in a relaxed, creative family craft session where children and grown‑ups work together to make their own end‑of‑summer journals. Please book ahead for this workshop.
Pirates ahoy! its outdoor theatre – The Rum Tale of the Moonfleet Diamond, with Tor Theatre – 4 and 29 Aug – Free family theatre in the gardens of the museum for you to drop in and enjoy, or bring a picnic and make a day of it.
The Summer Exhibition is Paths Taken – the extraordinary journeys that some of the archive collection shoes have taken before they joined the museum’s collections. Interested in finding out more? book your tickets to an curators talk on 14 August.
The Museum is open daily 10-4pm. Under 8s go free all Summer and museum tickets are just £5 for under 25s.
