Art, Identity and the Paths We Walk

Take a Walk in Our Shoes is a vibrant exhibition showcasing the work of three local artists whose practices explore self‑expression, belonging and the stories we carry with us and would you know, two of them even draw shoes!

The exhibition brings together drawing, photography and personal narrative to explore how identity is shaped by place, community, history and by the journeys we take. The artists draw on their experiences of growing up, living and creating in Somerset, while also connecting to wider issues including LGBTQ+ stories of resilience, joy and visibility.

This exhibition is for everyone! Visitors are invited to consider how art can become a tool for self‑expression, social development and how creativity can make space for every voice.

Plus have a go yourself!  Every Wednesday morning visitors are invited to drop into the education room for an art workshop run by one of the artists.

Whether you come to view the artwork, take part in activities, or simply enjoy being part of the welcoming, inclusive community that Street is and has always been, this exhibition is for everyone.
