Work of a literary society centred in Street, Somerset

The Shoemakers Museum collections house 99 volumes of the Street Village Album spanning the years 1857-1998. These journals built on earlier community publications The Avalon Budget, The Street Budget and the Street Chronicle between 1816 and 1849. Community members contributed pieces ranging from articles and letters, to music, recipes and drawings which were brought together and published annually creating a beautiful snapshot of life in the village of Street.
