Discover what happens when curious young minds meet an extraordinary collection.

Step inside Shoemakers Museum and discover what happens when curious young minds meet an extraordinary collection.

Millfield Art Scholars have been given free rein to explore the objects and stories in the museum – from historic footwear and vintage advertising to hulking industrial machinery and the fossilised remains of ancient ichthyosaurs – and respond with their own original art work.

The result is a bold and thought provoking exhibition that walks in the footsteps of the museums most compelling theme – community. Expect work that challenges, surprises and delights and pieces that find the wonderful in the everyday.
A testament to what happens when the next generation of artists let loose on history and told to break the rules!

The exhibition is open daily 10-5pm and is free for annual pass holders.

A by-invitation preview of the exhibition takes place on Monday 20th April.
