Book for a unique guided tour inside the museum’s, climate controlled archive

A curator holding an original slipper from the collection

Enjoy a unique behind-the-scenes experience at Shoemakers Museum. A member of our collections team will lead you on a tour of the museum’s, climate controlled stores and strong rooms to see a few of the items not on display in the museum. A fascinating introduction into a collection of over 200 years of shoemaking history and an insight into the work of the museum’s archivists and curators.

With over 100,000 objects in the collection only a selection make it into the galleries. This is an opportunity to see some of the collections which aren’t on display.
